DOUBLE WALL ROUND DUCT
If you’re looking to invest in new ducts and you want an option that’s even more efficient, it could be time to consider double wall spiral ducts. You may also hear them called dual wall spiral pipe or double wall round duct.
Often specified for exposed duct settings in hospitals, schools, and laboratories, double wall duct has a clean look that is much more aesthetically pleasing because it can be internally insulated.
Double wall duct is constructed with an insulation layer between a solid metal outer shell and either a perforated or solid metal inner shell. Acoustical double wall duct is built with a solid outer shell and a perforated inner shell to effectively reduce system noise while thermal control double wall is built with solid inner and outer shells for assured thermal conductivity and vapor barrier integrity.
We corrugate all duct larger than 13 inches unless instructed otherwise. Non-corrugated duct may be specified when the spiral duct is going in a open ceiling in order to give a crisper look.
If you can draw it, we can make it.
MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT
A traditional spiral duct system may be more efficient than the average rectangular duct, but double wall spiral ducts offer even more efficiency in terms of energy costs. Double wall spiral ducts are, as the name suggests, comprised of two walls. First, there is the larger duct that’s visible to everyone. Next, there’s the second inner spiral duct. These two components help ensure a more consistent airflow temperature during delivery. When the air temperature is more consistent, your HVAC doesn’t need to run as long, ensuring a more energy-efficient air delivery system for your space.
LESS NOISE
Another part of the beauty of double wall spiral ducts is noise reduction. As a result of the double walls, airflow is much quieter as your heat or air conditioning runs. Whether you’re running a call center and need silent airflow or you don’t want to have to shout over your AC every time a customer walks into your retail location, double wall spiral ducts could be a huge help in reducing noise.
